This time, the letter from Her Majesty the Queen enclosed a ticket for a traveling circus troupe. This Noah’s Ark circus troupe tours around the country, but in a town they visit, a child suddenly disappears in the middle of the night. Ciel goes to the mortician to investigate the cause, but is told that there is no body of the child and that he was not killed in the underworld.
Ciel decides to go and see the circus troupe in person. While Ciel gives up on the idea of going to see the show, Sebastian goes onstage to see a rare tiger, not for reconnaissance …… but because his cat lover’s blood is boiling. However, he is wounded when the tiger bites him on the face.
On his way back, he is approached by a clown (joker) who suggests that he should see the resident doctor, and fortunately or unfortunately, he gets a chance to go into the back side of the house.
Sebastian was greeted by a doctor in a wheelchair. The circus troupe was actually a group of physically handicapped people who performed together, and the doctor had made all the parts for their prosthetics.
Sebastian’s curiosity got the better of him when he touched the thigh of the prosthetic limb of Windy, a beastmaster, and the angry circus performers attacked him, but he was able to fend off all their attacks. His exceptional athletic ability is rewarded, and Sebastian joins the troupe with Ciel.
Ciel struggles to get used to living in a tent, but during a performance, he sneaks into the tent and finds a box of childhood photos of the older members of the circus troupe. Ciel spots an elderly man in one of the photos. The man wears a ring with the same mark as the engraving on his prosthetic limb and is dressed like an aristocrat. Sebastian, on the other hand, seduces Wendy and asks her for the name of the “father” who wears the engraved ring on his limb.
Ciel and Sebastian go to the father’s mansion. Ciel is invited into the basement, where his “father” tells him, “Let’s start over. Ciel realizes for the first time that this person is “Baron Kelvin.
In fact, Baron Kelvin had met the child Ciel five years earlier. He had been looking for Ciel to make her his own for all this time.
Ciel is furious and shoots Baron Kelvin. The Joker begs him not to kill Baron Kelvin, as he owes him a favor for picking him up in the favela. Then a doctor from the circus troupe appears, who is making a special prosthetic limb.
He reveals that the special material is the bones of missing children who died in the show. Ciel learns of this, and remembering the nightmare of the black market three years ago, he orders Sebastian to burn everything to solve the case.
4. “Serial Murder Case at the Count’s Residence in Phantomhive” (Comics vol. 9, no. 38 – vol. 11, no. 51)
A formal dinner party was held for the guests visiting England by order of Her Majesty the Queen, and they were to be entertained at the residence of the Count of Phantomhive. After the party, a night of thunder and torrential rain breaks out, and the participants are killed one by one. The first victim is Ziemen, an honorary director of a bank. It is impossible to escape because of the terrible rain outside, and the police cannot come. The search for the murderer begins inside the mansion.
The next morning, another murder occurs. Sebastian has been murdered. They also go to the room of Count Phelpes, a shipbuilding trade director, and find him dead. One murder after another, everyone is distraught.
Then, in spite of the storm, Reverend Jeremy comes to the house. In fact, this pastor is Sebastian. He plays the role of both the corpse and the pastor, and solves the case.
And the culprit in this case was a poisonous snake. Since the law forbids the smuggling of snakes, the only person who can do this is President Woodley of the diamond polishing business. He wanted to poison the snake by making it remember Ciel’s scent, but the real culprit behind this incident was the snake charmer (Snake) of the circus troupe.
Snake attempted to assassinate the Joker and his friends to avenge the death of the Joker and his friends, but Sebastian caught him. Ciel lies about the end of the circus and takes Snake in as a servant of the house.
